Mobile Terrestrial News Gathering System «Reporter-TV/Digital»

In September 2000 Kvant-Efir designed and produced the first in CIS countries digital mobile news gathering system «Reporter-TV/Digital». The system was delivered to a TV company Inter.

«Reporter-TV/Digital» system is used to deliver signal from mobile TV studio to central TV studio. The system is based on MPEG-2 compression and COFDM modulation. It allows to broadcast live reports from spots of events and during movement of the mobile TV studio. There is no need for line of sight between transmitting and receiving antennas. The system works on reflected signals. Range of the system — up to 35 km when working within line of sight and 10 km when working on reflected signals with non-directional transmitting antenna (urban conditions).

Due to small size and weight of the transmitting part the system may be easily integrated into an existing DSNG system located even in a passenger car.
